Lastly, achieving global standards is not straightforward given the diverse societal, historical, and political contexts worldwide. Cultural relativism presents hurdles when attempting to formulate universally acceptable AI ethics norms. Regulations must envision promoting ethical practices while fostering innovation, rather than stifling it.

Given these ethical challenges, what steps can be taken to balance AI's transformative power and responsibility? Firstly, multi-stakeholder dialogue is integral. Collaboration between AI technologists, businesses, policymakers, civil society, academia and other stakeholders can generate comprehensive ethical strategies.

Secondly, embedding ethics early in the AI development process, rather than as an afterthought, can mitigate many issues. Thirdly, fostering a culture of continuous learning can guide AI development through unexpected ethical challenges in an ever-evolving technological world. And finally, laying down global ethics standards, albeit challenging, can provide a robust framework, paving a balanced path for AI’s future.

While challenging, it is an exercise that society must collectively endeavour to ensure the ethical usage of AI.
